Happy Anniversary to the San Ramon Farmers Market at City Center Bishop Ranch!

Happy Anniversary to the San Ramon Farmers Market!

It’s been one year since the market opened to much fanfare at City Center Bishop Ranch. We literally “broke bread” (Starter Bakery Whole Wheat Sourdough to be exact) and launched the market’s year-round gathering of about 40 fabulous growers and producers.

Let’s celebrate this weekend with "air high fives," of course, keeping in mind social distance protocols!

What an exciting year it has been, and we have all of you to thank. We are grateful for our resilient vendors who set up at the market each Saturday in all kinds of weather with the freshest of fruits and vegetables, meats, and dairy, and the most delicious jams, honey, savory entrees, fresh-from-the-oven loaves of bread, and delectable pastries.

We are also grateful to our wonderful and supportive community and all our loyal “Farmer’s Market” customers We enjoy seeing familiar faces each week and meeting new customers who may be checking us out for the first time or visiting their family and friends in San Ramon.

We’re happy to report that the Farmer’s Market is going strong, and it continues to thrive, as it remains one of the few local farmers markets in the area to stay open during this pandemic.

We opened online ordering and curbside pickup on April 18, and the response has been phenomenal! We will continue to add seasonal items and practice the safest protocols so that we can continue to offer you a convenient and alternative way to shop the Farmer’s Market.

Longtime residents will know, while we are new to City Center Bishop Ranch, the San Ramon Farmer’s Market has been a part of the community since May 5, 2007, when vendors gathered for the first time at the historic Forest Home Farms. The community minded Harv Singh, who grew up here in San Ramon, the market opened with a ribbon cutting attended by then-mayor H. Abram Wilson. Three years later, he moved the market to a more central location at Bishop Ranch 2 and 3, and now to City Center Bishop Ranch

Happy Anniversary to the San Ramon Farmer’s Market! We look forward to another fresh, sweet, wholesome, and healthy year and a return to lingering conversations, the smell of freshly prepared Ofa’s barbecue and kettle corn, and the lively strains of music brightening up the market. Until then, from six feet away,  we’ll see you at the Farmer's Market!
